Obituary of Brian James Alphonse Canning

Canning,Brian Passed away at Chancellor Park, Brian James Alphonse Canning in his 72nd year. Predeceased by his mother Catherine and father Martin, and brothers Calvin, Derm, Cletus and Clarence and sister Lovetta. Leaving to mourn with the heaviest of hearts and a lifetime of memories, his wife Donna and their children, Catherine (Stephen Robinson) and his son Martin. The light of his life his grandson Greyson and his brothers Greg, Eugene, Adrian, Jerome and Lawrence. Brian was an Air Force Veteran of thirty years and rose to the top rank of Captain. Since his retirement, Brian completed his masters in Community Development, jogged the lake every day , read voraciously and wrote a novel. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends who remember him for his passionate debates about politics, health, life, and his dry wit and generosity of spirit. A celebration of his life will take place at.Coombs Funeral Home,Placentia on Tuesday,November 10,2015 from 1:00 - 2:00. From 2:00 - 2:30 family will gather for the eulogy. From 2:30 - 4:00 family and friends will go to the Royal Canadian Legion, Placentia for a reception. Donations can be made to Parkinsons Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
