DOODY, Sadie (nee Macdonald) - It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a beloved wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother, and wonderful friend on August 23, 2008, on her 59th wedding anniversary. Predeceased by her mother and father (Molly and Jack Macdonald); mother- and father-in-law (Tom and Ellen Doody); brothers: Weldon, Alex, Nick, Derm, Leonard, and Art; brothers-in-law: Thomas, Jim, Dan, Joseph, and Leo; sisters: Agatha, Muriel, Marion, and Betty; sister-in-law Jennie; and her darling grandson Jonathon and son John. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband Lester; sons: Tom (Linda), Jerry (Lucy); daughter-in-law Marie; and precious grandchildren: Jeremy, Johnna, Lesley, Jordan, and Allison; brother Clyde (Lorraine); brothers-in-law: Phonse (Hilda), Leonard (Elizabeth), Owen (Julie); sister Zita (Bill); sisters-in-law: Bernie and Mary Macdonald, Rita, Annie, Agnes, and Elizabeth Doody, and Clarice (Mike) Power; as well as many very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sadie will be remembered as a person of deep faith who brought joy and love into the lives of all she met. Her kindness and compassion were shared with many. She will be especially remembered by all the little children who were so fortunate to have had her as their "little grade one teacher." Sadie was fun-loving and had a zest for life. She enjoyed bowling, cards, visiting and e-mailing friends, and dancing. She was an avid gardener, and just like the roses in her garden she was a beautiful presence in the lives of all who loved her and has now become heaven's most beautiful angel. Our hearts will be forever touched by her journey through our lives. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Time and place for Funeral Mass to be given later. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. You are welcome to visit and sign our online guestbook @ www.coombsfuneralhome.ca Our Mother's Garden Our mother kept a garden, A garden of the heart, She planted all the good things That gave our lives their start. She turned us to the sunshine And encouraged us to dream, Fostering and nurturing The seeds of self-esteem... And when the winds and rain came, She protected us enough- But not too much because she knew We'd need to stand up strong and tough. Her constant good example Always taught us right from wrong- Markers for our pathway That last a lifetime long. We are our Mother's garden. We are her legacy— And we hope today she feels the love That will forever be. Author unknown
