Our hearts overflow with sadness as we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Albert Spurvey. With courage and resilience, he endured a long struggle against cancer. He passed away at his home in Chamberlains, CBS on September 15th in the presence of his wife and son.
Albert is predeceased by his parents, Ellen and James, his brothers Raymond, Leonard, Richard, Adrian, Kevin, John-Thomas, Michael; his sisters Honorah and Ellen; his mother and father-in-law Sadie and Francis Fowler, his sisters-in-law Theresa (Albert) and Marie (Patrick), his brothers-in-law Ben, Gerard (Theresa) and Justin (Linda).
Albert leaves a loving family to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 58 years, Clare, his daughter Tina (Michael), his sons Sean (Grendon), Raymond (Vanessa), and Zane, his granddaughter Kailey and his grandson Michael; His sister Rosemary, his brothers Bob (Ruby), and Edwin and Gerard (Madeline); His sisters-in-law Eleanor (Cliff), Chris (Harold) and Phyllis; His brothers-in-law Albert (Pauline), Ralph (Mary) and Francis and many cherished nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Albert was a great problem solver with a wide range of superb practical and mechanical skills. He had a keen love of music and a sharp mind, well-suited to tackling puzzles and quizzes, but most of all, he loved to be of help to others and he especially delighted in the company of friends and family.
We are grateful to the doctors and nurses who have shown him such care and compassion throughout his illness: Dr. Heidi Brake, Dr. Jonathan Greenland, Dr. Stewart Rorke, & Dr. Greg Sutton and special nurse Jennifer Codner.
Arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home in Placentia.
Visitation to take place on:
Wednesday, September 18, 7- 9 pm,
And Thursday September 19, 2 - 9pm
Funeral service in the chapel at Coombs Funeral Home on Friday, 11:30 am, followed by burial service in Fox Harbour Cemetery. A lunch will follow in the hall at Fox Harbour.
