My deepest condolences to Albert’s family and friends. I grew up practically next door to the Spurvey family and have very fine memories of them all especially of Albert. I remember his intellect in particular and was fortunate enough to be able to run into him in recent years and share greetings. Let perpetual light shine on him.

To Alberts family, cousins, and all the Spurvey Crew,
Our hearts go out to you and your family. We didn’t get to see Uncle Albert that much, but EVERY interaction with him was kind, respectful, and ALWAYS enjoyable. I could listen to his stories for hours. Our last visit he showed us how to make a drink with my husband’s favorite whiskey and my husband has made it like that ever since. (Buffalo Trace, ginger ale. a cherry, with a splash of cherry juice) He was a special man.
Love,
Mary Hoffman(Fe)

Sincere condolences to Clare and family, and to the Spurvey family.
Albert was a fine man and we will never forget his kindness. When we were a young family back in the 80’s,driving the unknown roads from Ontario back home to NL, Albert & Clare welcomed us into their home for the night on our journey. We were treated like family and felt like we were already home while there in Fredericton, NB.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and may Albert rest in peace.

When I look out the window I see you; I miss you. I remember the “Ceasars”, Raymond and Matthew playing, driving Sean to work, Phil bothering Albert for help with the car, the many NFLD meals (figgy duff?), homemade bread, Albert laying on the floor suffering with a bad back, our trip to NFLD, your visit to Shediac , Albert’s amazing mind and vast knowledge - sooo many wonderful memories. Albert, you will be missed; lay in peace my friend.

My deepest condolences to Albert's family. I grew up with him in Fox Hr. and he was always the nicest, most pleasant person you could ever meet. I didn't see much of him in the last few years but when he came to Fox Hr. to the Summer Festival we would always have long chats and talk about the "good old days". My sister Betty and I would refer to him as "Our Albert" and he would get a great laugh out of that. Rest in peace "Our Albert."

Clare, Tina, Sean, Raymond and Zane, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of the most dearest husband and father. May faith and memories be sources of comfort and support.
There are so many wonderful memories to contribute and I am truly blessed to have so many cherished memories of Albert. Among my favorites are our long telephone conversations filled with laughter, shared quotes, stories about his father, and a diverse range of music, from Rufus Wainwright, Pavarotti to Ravi Shankar.
Being in Albert's physical presence was a privilege. One of my most unforgettable moments was during Bruce and Heidi's wedding in Fox Harbour. As I stood in the communion line, Albert rose from his pew and gave me a heartfelt hug, bringing the procession to a temporary halt. In that moment, time seemed to stand still, and I felt a profound sense of connection. In my head, this moment had movie rights and orchestral music.
Now, as I stand in a different line—a line of gratitude—I am deeply thankful for having Albert in my life. He will always be my most respected and trusted mentor. His memory will forever be cherished and his bright spirit will continue to guide and inspire me.
“From bitter searching of the heart, quickened with passion and with pain, we rise to play a greater part- this is the faith from which we start.” Leonard Cohen

Clare, Tina, Sean, Raymond, Zane - the best neighbors/babysitters we ever had. Oh, how Phil and I miss you all. Truthfully, ( I ) think of you everyday. When I received word of Albert’s passing my entire body went numb; my stomach was sick. There are no words that can ease the grief that I know you are suffering. I don’t need to remind you how much he loved you; how helpful and thoughtful he was to everyone; how he loved to tell his stories; how comfortable he made us feel. He was a true Newfoundlander! Take heart in the wonderful memories. I wish I could hug you! Mary Lou (and Phil).

So sorry to hear of Albert's Passing. I'll always remember him being able to fix anything with anything. The Heat that would flow out of the Woodstove during the winter was like the surface of the sun!
His boisterous laugh, his knowledge of most anything. Always a pleasure to sit enjoy and enjoy a cup of Tea, Claire's Homemade bread right out of the oven and have a wonderful long chat. He will be missed. You are all in my heart n thoughts at this time.
