It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our forever loved David O’Keefe, on August 10, 2022 at the age of 67 years.
Predeceased by his number one fan and guarding light, his Mother Sarah O’Keefe, baby sister, brother Edward (Bud) Lake, grandparents Bridge & Edward Cunningham, Mary & David O’Keefe, sister in-law Ida O’Keefe and niece Maureen Lake.
Leaving to mourn his loss with fond memories and broken hearts: his father Clem O’Keefe (Daddy); brothers Clem (Nancy) , Hughie (Dolores), Gerard “McGee” (Emma), Leonard (Bon), Nick, Terry (Betty, Bob (Margie) Randy, Jim (Cathy) and Joe (Cheryl); sisters Ellen (Philip), Fran (Dinny) and Sarah (Andy); sister in-law Elaine Lake and special family friend Margie Hatfield.
Also leaving to mourn his loss are members of the Cunningham and O’Keefe families, 35 nieces and nephews, 56 great nieces and nephews, his home care workers that have cared for his for the past 17 years, and a large circle of family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing him.
David had a smile for everyone and was loved by all who knew him. Although he loved to dance alone, he took much enjoyment from having his family clapping and cheering him on from the side lines. Music & Friends were what he enjoyed the most.
A special thank you to his friend Joyce O’Reilly, who on many occasions was at his bedside for support. Thank you to the staff at the Placentia Public Health Department for their care and compassion during his final days and to Dr. Rob Power for his care over David for the past several years.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place Thursday 11am-2pm for family only and 2pm-9pm for public; as well as Friday 11am-9pm. Funeral Service to take place at Holy Rosary Church .Freshwater Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2pm, with interment to follow at Coombs Memorial Cemetery.
