It is with much love and deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Madeline Alice Penney, aged 73,at the Health Sciences Center, St. John’s. Madeline is predeceased by her parents Peter and Alice Mansfield, her uncle Jim Mansfield and sister-in-law Jenny.
She is lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 52 years, Bernard Penney, her sons David Penney (Deborah), Jay Penney (Lisa), daughter Tammy Gambin (Michael). Madeline also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Brianna Penney, Brandon Penney, Danielle Penney, Andrew Penney and Penney Gambin, great grandchild Xavier Hanlon, her sisters and brothers in law and a large circle of relatives and friends.
Madeline loved her family above all and never hesitated to display the commitment and devotion she had for her family. She took great joy in spending time with her family celebrating the moments she had with her children and grandchildren. She lived her life with a spirit of kindness and generosity toward others that will always be remembered and she was a dedicated teacher who shared her passion for education with her family throughout her life.
Madeline’s caring personality and the kindness she displayed for others will not be forgotten.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, alert level 3, this will be a walk through visitation. When entering the funeral home you will be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required.
