Obituary of Daniel Joseph Murphy

Daniel J. Murphy, a resident of Dunville, NL, was born in Carbonear, NL, eldest son of Harry and Marie Murphy (nee Colford), passed away peacefully Tuesday April 13, 2021 at the Long Term Care Centre in Placentia, NL, from pneumonia and congestive heart failure. He also suffered from dementia for the past year-and-a-half. He is survived by his son, Daniel Murphy, daughter-in-law Kerry Murphy (nee Galway) and grandson, Andrew Murphy, and his four siblings Hyacinth White (married Philip), Rex Murphy, Tyrone Murphy, and Judy MacIntyre and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and their families. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Barbara Murphy (nee Woodman) of 41 years, and infant daughter. Daniel was born on May 13, 1945 and at the age of 13 the family moved to Freshwater, NL where he lived until married when he moved to Dunville, NL and started his family. He was fond of music, carving, woodcarving and painting. He will be missed by his family.
