I will be forever grateful for some of the most wonderful, positive childhood memories of Dorothy as she shared a part of her life with us McCulloch boys. The hikes, the Christmas ornament gifts, and the prayers at bedtime - such a loving person. I loved her accent, the place where she lived, Harbour Grace, Placentia, St Johns - all of it. Amazing how such in short a brief span of time in life her love would be most impactful. I am thankful to have known her and after 45 years to see her Aug 2019 while in NFLD - the memories were overwhelming. Much love to you all as you mourn the loss of your loved one. Deepest sympathies to you all
Ian McCulloch, Calgary, AB (Cape Breton)

I write a tribute to a wonderful Nurse , Dot Pack (Chubbs), as one of her Class of ‘77 classmates. So many of her classmates have expressed such beautiful and loving memories about Dot over the last few days. While many of us lost touch with Dot over the years as we moved forward with family commitments and career moves, we have fondly reminisced in recent days about Dot and her love of her chosen profession. The love of her life was her daughter,Sherrie. She was so proud of Sherrie and would beam when she spoke of her to us. Sherrie was always a part of Dot’s day and she she loved to talk about her with us.
Dot’s second love was her nursing, a gift that she valued and appreciated every day. So many of Dot’s classmates have shared such beautiful memories along with their sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy.
Without exception, each of her classmates remember Dot as the ‘ultimate ‘ nurse. Dot loved her patients and her smile would melt the stress in any situation. She deeply cared about her patients and mentored so many of us as young nurses in the early days.
Many of us spent extra time with Dot when we worked together in smaller groups throughout our three years at The General . Class of ‘77 was one of the largest graduating classes (110 students) from the General Hospital School of Nursing. Dot surely made an impression and left a beautiful legacy with so many of us. We got to know Dot and to love her. Dot was always there for us for a good chat, a word of encouragement and she had a pleasant positive outlook when many of us were ready to throw in the towel!
Dot offered so much to so many in her care over the years. We are all so proud to have known Dot, our nursing colleague.
On behalf of the General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1977, we send our love and sincere sympathy to Sherrie,( you were her pride and joy) her brothers and sisters , nieces and nephews, her family and friends.
Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers today.
May Dot Rest In Peace.
In Celebration of her Life,
Class of 1977
General Hospital School of Nursing

Leon, Robert, Carl, Gary, Lorraine, Maxine and Cindy, I was saddened to hear the news of Dot's passing. Coming from a large family myself, it's difficult to image losing a member of the clan; I know you are all there to support and comfort each other.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Cherish the memories and celebrate her life.
Sherrie - my heart aches for you on losing your mother, that one special person in life who supports and loves you unconditionally. You now have an angel looking over you and I am positive she will be there to guide you. Celebrate and cherish the memories you have in your heart, they are yours forever. God Bless

To the Chubbs family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I hope the many cherished memories you share will provide some comfort. One of those memories I have of Dot was when she visited Carl & Judy in Ft. McMurray and we spent some time together, especially the events at the New Years Eve Ball. I'll leave it to Carl to share with family this and many other fine memories.
Rest in Peace, Dot!

She Walks with Grace....
The light in her eyes...
that ran deep to her soul...
her love and compassion for mankind..
so many stories ... never told...
She Walks with grace...
A vintage nurses uniform..
stored with care...
her wealth of medical knowledge ....
she was only to happy to share...
she walks with grace
Her conversations were long...
her hand written letter's too....
and if you were part of her life circle
you knew... you were one... of the lucky few...
She walks with grace...
She aged with Beauty...
even though her body got weak...
in whispered voices ...
she still had words to speak...
I'll think of you in your pearls ... the smile on your face...
And I know... as you climb heavens stairs..
She walks with grace...
