To Fabian, Janet, Emily and Colin: I was so sad to hear of Great Aunt Louise's passing. I wanted to be in Newfoundland when I heard, but unfortunately I was nowhere near home. At the school I am working at in Grande Prairie, AB, we hold prayer every morning for the entire staff. I said a prayer for Aunt Louise and asked the staff to keep the O'Keefe family and my family in their prayers. Many of the staff asked me about her and I was more than happy to tell them all about her positive spirit and zest for life. I know that it is inevitable to grieve, but celebrating and reminiscing on her fruitful life is something that we can do to keep her memory alive for years to come. Heaven certainly gained a gentle and loving woman last week. There is no doubt in my mind that she is there enjoying the company of family and friends while being the life of the party! I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to know such a special lady in my lifetime. She touched our lives here on Earth and will continue to watch over us from Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Erin xoxo

To Mrs Louisa's family and friends we offer our sincere sympathies on your loss. She was a great lady who loved to chat and keep up with the latest events taking place here in this area.It was always a pleasure to get a call from her. She taught my Mom in school and they kept in touch through the years. She always kept in touch with Dad after Mom passed and then carried on the tradition when he passed. She'd call me or my sister. She never ended her calls without saying give my love to your sister and to your young handsome man.God bless you all. Well God bless you Mrs Louisa and we love you too! You will be missed as will your calls. May God bless your family. Colin and Emily will definitely have a special angel watching over them. They were the light of her life as were Fabian and Janet. She loved going on excursions and would call me telling me all about it.

On behalf of myself and Trevor we would love to send our condolences to the O'keefe family. It is sad to see someone leave us knowing they are with us so long. Just remember she maybe gone in person but not in heart or memory. Memories last forever in your hearts and minds. Mrs. Louisa lives in each and everyone of you. My mother, Ann Marie Young dearly spoke of Louisa. I have sat and listened to my Mom and Aunt Bridgie speak of a lovely lady. I only met her a few times, I must say she is wonderful lady. She will be sadly missed by everyone but will always remain in your hearts. Take care. God bless you all. May she rest in peace and sleep with the angels tonight.

Although I only met Mrs. Louisa O'Keefe once, we were telephone friends. After I stopped writing for the Telegram and started my column in the Charter, I would save the stories and send them to her every six weeks. After she read them, she would call and we would chat. If I were not home, she would talk away to my husband. He enjoyed her conversations. She was a brilliant woman and so entertaining to talk to. Condolences to her family and friends. I will miss our calls. God speed, Mrs. OKeefe. Marina Power Gambin Placentia
