I know when you all get together this week you'll be reliving lots of good memories of Uncle Brian and Aunt Julie. They were wonderful people and I'm so glad to say they were my aunt and uncle. I'm sure they're together once again and looking down on all of you. They wouldn't want you to be sad so celebrate their lives and the wonderful memories you have of them. Margie, Janet, Roseann, Charlie, Brian, Regina & Emmie, Just wanted you all to know I am thinking of you and would be there if at all possible. Point Verde is just not the same - so many of the people that were there when we were living at home are now gone. It seems strange to not know who lives in every house as I walk down the road. But it is still home to me and probably always will be. Margie, I will give you a call sometime next week when things settle down for you.

Dear Margie, Janet, Brian and all, My heartfelt condolences at the passing of Uncle Brian. Like others who have written here, I have fond memories of Uncle Brian and Aunt Julia. Family ties meant so much when we were all children and your parents had such an open and loving home that it was always wonderful to visit. I wish I could be there in person, but time and distance does not allow. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To all my cousins: I was deeply saddened by yet another loss for you. Please know that I am keeping all of you in my prayers and that I will pray for Uncle Brian to quickly join Aunt Julia. The loss of someone always invokes memories and I only have the fondest memories of your father and mother. I enjoyed all the meals that were so joyfully served at your house with no regard for yet another mouth to feed. I remember the adventures in the woods behind your house and the yummy berries that were ever present. I found Uncle Brian to be a man of few words, but what he did have to say carried a powerful message. Again I will keep all of you in my prayers knowing that God heals all wounds quickly.

Mr. Brian's family. So sorry to hear of Mr. Brian's passing. I remember Mr. Brian as always having a smile and a wave when I would meet him walking from Ronnie's store. Your home was always one we could run to as children for a quick glass of water when we were out playing or to exchange story books to read. Pt. Verde sure is different now but I like to believe that Mom and Dad, Uncle Clarence, Mr. Brian and Mrs Julie, Ronnie and all the rest are all together having a grand old chat for themselves. Take care, out thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Mrs. Maijala , Janet , Siblings and extended families : Growing up , I spent many hours in the home of Mr. Brian and Mrs . Julia . We sat around the big kitchen table and Mr. Brian taught us the fine art of 120 auction . As the cards were played , he told us who was BULL and cautioned us "Do not send a boy on a man's errand." These things I have never forgotten . Mr. Brian , you are now on your way to the finest card game of all time . When you arrive at your final resting place , there will be your Julie . Waiting with her is Ronnie , Magdalen , Mom and Aunt Amelia . Your Julie will be pleasant and smiling , Ronnie will be having a BOILING cup of tea , Magdalen will be wearing her finest pearls and Mom and Aunt Amelia will be up to No Good . And you will all love it . Rest in Peace . Lovingly , Ethel

To all the members of the family - In my own youth I spent a lot of time in Brian's yard and back meadow. I remember the games of ball (boys only) we played down by the brook with all the girls watching on and ribbing us a bit when we missed a catch. Brian was a nice man. He allowed the use of his property to the kids of Point Verde even after we might have accidently broken a rail of the fence while climbing over. He was one of the most pleasant school bus drivers we had. He never tried to instill fear into the kids like some of the others. He respected our youth and treated us gently. Those were great times in our little village of Point Verde. It is too bad that we are now scattered to the four corners of the world. But our memories are intact - I do believe. My deepest condolences on your Dad's passing. He is, of course, now with the love of his life. The care he demonstrated for Julia during her sickness was inspiring. Take care all.
