You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We have many fond memories of John that span from our youth to this very day. When we were much younger John was a regular visitor and households. When we lived in St. Brides, John would frequent our home and we spent many Saturday nights dancing at his club in Branch. May you all be comforted by the cherished memories that you hold close to your hearts. Rest in peace, John.

We can only imagine the memories and stories that are being shared this weekend as you bid farewell to a legend. Here is BC we have been reminising about John. My mom and dad, Harold and Joan Tobin were talking about John's days with the mail; how John and his father would travel from Placentia with horses delivering the parcels and Wish Books to the shore. Of course a John memory would not be complete without details of his tenacity when it came to opening the roads after a brutal snow storm. Many of our recollections of John focus on beautiful nights of song and friendship honed at the Dew Drop In...aka the Shamrock. As you show your marks of respect for John, be comforted by thoughts of his radiant smile, sharp dress, fancy steps on the dance floor, and gracious personality. May he rest in peace.

We are sorry to hear of John's passing. From his younger days as a mail man with his father and their two beautiful horses, making sure that the Christmas parcels from Simpsons-Sears and Eaton's arrived on time, and down through the years, John's was a household name in Branch, along the Cape Shore and beyond. A tireless worker, he went wherever work brought him to support his family. One of the best traditional step dancers the Province has seen, it was a joy to watch him on the dance floor as he stepped it out to the tune of a good accordion player. To his family and friends - as you celebrate his life and mourn his passing- our sincere condolences and a regret that we can not be with you at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with John's family and friends. Our Tom often told stories of his Uncle John and each of them made us smile. Whenever we ran into John he always had a joke to share. Rest in peace John, a rest well earned!
