I really can't remember the last time I saw my grandfather, but his death is a lost I feel right now. He has been sick for so long. The man I remember was larger than life, a giant of a man to me...whom I feared and respected at the same time. I know we would have been great friends as adult men.

One of my fondest memories of my Uncle Billy dates back when I was attending Memorial University and decided to go to Placentia for a visit. I can still picture him standing in the doorway, standing in the same manner as my father. I could hear him saying to Aunt Ida, someone is coming up the driveway. On that visit he could not do enough for me. He even rose early in the morning to make a batch of home made bread just for me. While the bread was rising he took me on a tour of Castle Hill and around Placentia in his truck. My very first ride in a truck and by was I tickled pink.
