I was so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing today. I spent many hours with her at the home in Torbay as she shared a room with my great Aunt Hannah. She shared many stories about her family with me and she was so proud of you all. She knew exactly who was where, what they were doing and what the grandchildren were studying at any given time. She had a great sense of humour, tremendous faith and a wonderful mind. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits and she was always pleasant and grateful for her wonderful life. I know that she is greatly missed. My sincere condolences to you all. Yvonne Manning and family

To the Antle Family: My sincerest condolences to you on the loss of your Mom. Your family holds a very tender spot in my heart for the wonderful memories from my childhood days when our family rented Doris Collins' house. Mr. and Mrs. Antle were always so nice to us kids and kept a watchful eye on us at all times. We often said the rosary in the front room, petted Patches' pups and enjoyed many meals and treats from Mrs. Antle's kitchen. Mrs. Antle was a beautiful, kind and devoted woman. She loved her family and had a deep faith in God. She now lives in the eternal rest she spent her life believing in. God Bless and keep you in the lonely days that lie ahead.

Kevin,Barbara Ann, Betty, You know how much I loved your mother. I am so sorry for your loss but we all know your mother is happy in heaven. I wrote a little tribute about her to her and would like to leave it hear for you to read.It goes as follows: Dear Aunt Lillian, I am writing this letter as my tribute to you. I really don't know where to begin. Whenever I heard your name or whenever I got to see you, it always gave me this wonderful feeling. A feeling of endless caring love.A feeling of safety and understanding. Knowing I was home and welcome at your home ( my second home) any time and being treated like one of your own children. You always had a smile for everyone. Would do whatever you could to help anyone in need. You and Uncle Gus were a perfect match. Both so kind and loving. You always looked for the best in others no matter what they had done. You took all your illness and suffering in stride. Didn't make a fuss and just went on with life. You raised three wonderful children, (for some one who wasn't suppose to have children). My cousins, who even though now we don't see each other often, they are also special to me. When we do get to visit it is like we were never away. Your kindness, your acceptance of others was amazing. You has a strong belief in God and St. Anne. Your belief carried you thru your hardships. I recall the many evenings saying the Rosary. The Sunday Church and all the special times of pray. I recall all the wonderful meals. Especially Sunday dinners. All the times just sitting around and talking. All of us or just you and I on many days when I would help you with your exercise, that you had to do. I always looked forward to holidays at your house. All the quick visits to your house, we would come and go with my mother who was always in a hurry in and out in a flash....Who also loved you dearly. You were so special to so many people. I admired you. The standards that you set, without even knowing you did so. I can still hear you now saying Betty Collins or big Betty is here. Or like when I would come back to Newfoundland to visit you would always say, "Oh it is so good to see you, Betty Collins",and the stories would start with , do you remember? You had a wonderful memory about everyone and everything. Stories about your childhood and all of us. I know my brothers also hold you very dearly in their hearts. That they have their own special memories with you. We were so blessed to have you in our lives. There are so many things to say, but for now I will stop and smile and think of you with love and happiness. As you are happy now in heaven with Uncle Gus and all of your siblings and your parents. I know you are resting in peace. I love you and you will always be with me. Your loving niece, Betty(COLLINS)O'Flaherty

To the Antle Family: I had the honor of meeting Mrs. Antle through work at Chancellor Park. Often I would porter Mrs. Antle and Mrs. Malley down to the Multi-Purpose Room for the many activities they participated in. She was a very loving person who would always kiss my hand. She would often remark how "you are very sweet". I will not forget those kind words. We often would have a chat about how good Pius (Collins) was to her. He very seldom missed a day visiting her and often brought her treats. I remember the last day I saw Mrs. Antle out in the dining room she was having trout that was brought in to her. I am thankful for meeting such a kind wonderful person. I am sure all of your lives have been enriched by her. Sharon Stuckey HR Manager Chancellor Park

Our sincerest condolences to the Antle family on the passing of our beautiful Great Aunt Lillian. She was a wonderful and kind woman. My siblings and I have very fond memories of visiting and staying with her in Placentia when we were children. My husband and I who reside in Ottawa feel very fortunate that we were able to visit with her this past September. She was in wonderful spirits during our visit and was excited that we were expecting our first child. Aunt Lillian regularly passed along her positive thoughts and more recently her congratulations on the arrival of our daughter via my father Pius. It was so nice to keep in touch with her in that way. We love you Aunt Lillian - may you rest in peace. We are grateful to have called you family.

To the Antle family, I worked at North Pond home for over two years and had the pleasure of helping care for Lillian. She was an amazing woman with a great spirit. She brightened many people's days with her warm smile and her gentle laugh. Lillian had an amazing faith in people and never had a mean thing to say about anyone. I know that her loss will be felt by many as she was loved by those who had the honour of knowing her. I sincerely hope that you find comfort in your many memories of her and knowing that she is at peace.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Lillian's passing. I will always remember our trips to Placentia (even though I was always afraid of Patches...can you believe that!!). She always welcomed us like we were her family. I remember sitting in the big rocking chair, she would give me homemade bread with melted butter and molasses and took great care of me. She will be dearly missed. Thinking of all of you at this time.
