Mrs. Dicks and Family, We were saddened to learn of Mr. Dicks' passing. He was indeed a kind and gentle man. My father often related the story of the buried pipe behind your house that they frantically had to repair more often than not. My father used to say of Mr. Dicks, "He wouldn't harm a flea." He will be fondly missed. Take care and God Bless. Harry, Rosemarie Murphy and Family

My dearest Grandfather-- I raise this tea cup in honor of you, Poppy Dicks...and smile sweetly at the memories of your love and laughter. I pour the boiled water over my tea leaves...and allow my tears of overwhelming sadness to flow freely. I wait, patiently as the tea begins to steep...and reminisce upon all the holidays and summers spent together. I lift the spoon...knowing that you have been lifted from this Earthly life to one of Eternal Peace. I add the sugar....and thank God for the chance to have known you and to have been influenced by you. I clank my spoon against the inside of my mug, stirring...stirring it all together...and I cry (as the tea stirring clank was the last sound I heard from you). I enjoy this bittersweet cup of tea...as I have been blessed by knowing you, and by receiving your love. You are indeed the Grand, in Grandfather; You have deeply touched all hearts that have met yours; You will be forever loved and forever missed; You are forever fossilized within my heart; With all my love, Poppy, I'll miss you.
