Bridget, Irene, Derrick, Shirley and families, how sorry we are for you all. A truly wonderful and kind man who, along with your mom, welcomed everyone into their home. A chat, a game of cards, a cup of tea, like Irene said at the Funeral Home last night, they made everyone welcome. That is so true, we know it first hand. We are so thankful for the memories we have of your Mom and Dad, their friendship, their kindness, smiles, cups of tea, conversations, laughs and stories. We have been blessed to have had such great neighbours and friends. You must feel proud to have been raised by such special and loving people. Your dad when he'd be over to his house would come out and chat on the step, watching our girls riding their bikes and would smile and speak so kindly about them. I'm so glad they got to know him as well. Your Dad and Mom will never, ever be forgotten. We will keep them in our hearts forever. I'm sure your memories will help ease your sorrow and will comfort you in the days ahead.

On my first day back home in Freshwater my Uncle was on the top of my list to see. My husband Martin and I knocked on his door at 8am.first the front door then the back door and finally the window. I could see him having a little nap in the chair. He looked like he was having a great snooze but I couldn't wait for him to awake,so I called his name and tapped gently on the window not to startle him.He wasn't waking up,so I tapped harder and harder, now to the point that I almost broke the window. Finally I see movement and he looks out at me. To the door he comes and opens it. Hello.Do I know you,he says. When I said Donnie he gave me the biggest hug and welcomed us in. We were in the house a whole five minutes before the accordion came out. He played every instrument he owned. It was noon before we left.It was the best welcome home and brought back all the memories of him and my mother playing together as I was growing up. Uncle Pete was a wonderful Uncle and always made you feel special,he will be missed by all his family.
Love Donnie

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I read this obituary with great sadness, Your Dad was a great man and I remember many occasions with your Dad playing the accotdian at Mom and Dad's and Mom playing with him at times. There were a number of parties at Dad's and he would say " Give Peter a call and ask him to come over and play the sqeezebox" and your dad would be seen a short time later strollong out the lane ready to play. Nobody ever quite played like he did. May God bless you all and may the wonderful memories of yout Dad keep you smiling.

To the Barron family: Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of you dear father. I remember very clearly as a child, my father bringing this gentleman to our house...his very words was "I found him now"! With that the man pulled a small case and took out a fiddle and started to play. It was such a beautiful sound. My father was in his glee! For many years after that Mr. Pete and my dad became very good friends and played a lot of music together. I know once again they are playing the sweet sound of music together. I can imagine a lot of smiles going on there! R.I.P Mr. Barron, you and your musical talent will not be forgotten.
