It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Cyril, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, beloved brother, uncle, and a dear friend to all who knew him, on Sunday December 29, 2024 at his home in Freshwater, surrounded by his family.
Predeceased by his loving parents, Ignatius & Genevieve McGrath, sister Bernadette Cahill(Alfred), brother Ambrose(Nellie), Kenneth and Junior, and father and mother-in-law, David & Annie McCarthy.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Elizabeth. His son, who is his whole world, Cyril Jr. (Pam, Rylan, Anna, and Ben). His precious grandchildren Isabella and Ben whom he loved whole heartedly, along with their mother, Kendra. Brothers Gilbert(Sheila), Dominic(Elsie, deceased), Benedict(Darlene), Reggie(Jane), Calvin(Maureen, deceased), Brendan,and Joseph(Jackie).Sisters Vera(Jerome),Genevieve(Vivian),and Wilhelmina(Johnny). Large number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, In-laws, Jimmy, Madeline(Boyd),Eva(Chuck),and Sheila(Dan). He loved them all like his own.
Thank You to Dr.Power at Placentia Hospital, as well as the Doctors and Nurses at Carbonear Hospital.
Cyril lived life to the fullest with his Wife and Family.
Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia, Friday January 3rd, 10am- 9pm, Saturday 10 am-2pm. Funeral service to take place in Coombs Memorial Chapel, Saturday 2pm Inurnment to follow at Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia.
