It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) O’Reilly, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 at the Placentia Health Centre. She left our world surrounded by much love, unprecedented strength. Betty radiated warmth and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Waiting in heaven with open arms are her loving parents, Ronald and Margaret Hefferan, sister Nellie Murphy, brother Edmund Hefferan;nephew Johnny Hefferan(Jims Son); mother and father in law, Thomas and Margaret O’Reilly and many of her other beloved family members. As a devoted wife to Ronald for 34 years they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their partnership was a beautiful testament to love and commitment, in sickness and health, inspiring all who witnessed it. Betty was a proud mother to Brett (Amy) and Jenny, nurturing them with compassion and guidance. Her children were her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself to ensuring they grew up in a loving and supportive environment. She celebrated their achievements and comforted them in times of need, always offering a listening ear and wise advice. As a grandmother, Betty was a source of joy and wisdom to her grandchildren, Beth, William, Olivia, Marcy and Kasey. She filled their lives with laughter, storytelling, and cherished memories, creating a legacy of love that will endure for generations. Her family was her dream come true, her greatest achievement. A devoted sister to Albert (Nellie) Jim, Bride, Linda (Wayne), Jenny (Freddie), Ron (Mary), Margie (Bob), Tom and Mary (Danny). They shared a bond that was filled with laughter, support, and deep affection. So many happy memories of bingo nights, sister trips, family occasions, that she treasured even in her illness. Betty was loved and she loved her extended O’Reilly Family. Her house was always open to those who wished to return home. Her nieces and nephews adored her, remembering her as the fun-loving aunt who always brought joy and love to their lives. Betty had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel as they were her favorite. A true friend to many, Betty had an incredible ability to connect with people and lift their spirits. Her infectious smile and generous heart made her a cherished presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She was a true beauty both inside and out. To know her was to love her. In her role as a caregiver, Betty exemplified selflessness and dedication. She devoted herself to caring for others, ensuring they felt loved and supported. Her compassion knew no bounds. A heartfelt thank you to the many doctors and nurses, who fought along side of Betty, every step of the way. A special thanks to the staff at the Miller Center and Placentia Hospital whose care and compassion at the end of her journey knew no bounds. Though no thanks is needed, thank you to her sisters Jenny and Linda, her angels on earth. Betty lived life to the fullest. She did not die of cancer she lived with it. Her faith always remained strong, and she has left a legacy of her love and perseverance in return.
