Predeceased by his son, Eric; parents, Patrick and Julia McGrath; parents-in-law, Charles and Margaret Coffey; sisters, Julia (Hubert) McNeill, Agnes (Jim) Bragg, Jane McGrath, Wilhelmina McGrath; brother, Clem; sister-in-law Gisela McGrath, and members of the Coffey family. Andy was born and raised in Patrick's Cove, where he and Peggy built their home and raised their family. At age 16, Andy went fishing with his father and two years later went logging for the AND Company in Badger. From there, Andy worked in the construction industry, where his career concluded with Labrador Construction in Goose Bay. Andy lived a content life in his beloved community and could often be found enjoying his morning walk to Gooseberry, cutting wood, picking berries on the barrens or woodworking in his spare time. Andy always stayed busy with no job too big or too small as “a day without work was a day wasted”. Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home in Placentia, on Sunday, February 4 from 6:00-9:00PM and Monday, February 5 from 9:00AM-12:00PM. Funeral service will then be held at Coombs Chapel, with inurnment to follow in Patrick’s Cove Cemetery. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Placentia Health Centre and Power's Ambulance for the compassionate care provided to Andy.
