Obituary of Eric Brenton

In Loving Memory: Eric Leonard Brenton, February 13, 1942 - August 23, 2023. It is with broken hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Eric Brenton, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Predeceased by his wife Frances, parents Alice and Albert Brenton, step-father Michael Coady and sister Mary Gerbig. He leaves to mourn his son Ron (Sheila), daughter Deanne (Shawn). He will be greatly missed by his three grandchildren Samantha, Katie and Shane and three great-granddaughters Rory, Nora and Emmy Kearns. Also leaving to mourn with precious memories, are his brothers and sisters Gordon (Sylvia), Beatrice, Harvey (Ruth), Ernie (Carmel), Ethel (David), Albert (Donna), Marjorie, Ruby (Mike), Judy (Rick), Melvin (Sandra), Bobby, Lorraine (Lloyd) and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as being a kind and gentle soul who loved to smile and have family around him. He was also known to love a cup of tea and something sweet! Music held a very special place in Eric’s heart. From the time he picked up his first guitar as a young boy, he was destined to perform on stage. He performed in numerous bands for over 30 years and loved being in front of a mic entertaining people. As an expression of sympathy in Eric's memory, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for our father at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and the wonderful staff at Pearl House Manor in Mount Pearl. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Saturday August 26th from 2:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00. Funeral Service to take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 27th at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast.
