Obituary of Elaine Donahue

Passed peacefully away, surrounded by family in her home, Elaine Donahue of Fox Harbour, age 61. Predeceased by her grandson Sebastian, her father Gordon, sister Linda, brothers Bernard and Francis, mother and father in law, Mary and Tom, and brother in law, Tom. Leaving to mourn with the most loving memories, her husband of 41 years, Peter, daughters Crystal (Josh), Jennifer (Charlie), Lisa (Matthew), her grandkids Ashley (Cory), Jacob, Noah, Matthew, Harper, Maria, her great granddaughter, Cali, her step grandkids Gerry, Alia, and Ashton and her beloved dog, Buster. Also leaving to mourn her sister in laws Anne (Calvin), Theresa, Marg and Mary, brother in laws Aiden (Karen), Neil (Cheryl), and Michael (Karen), sisters and brother, nieces and nephews, and her dearest friends, whom we all consider family, Gertie and Glad “Maudie”. Elaine also leaves her birth daughter Theresa whom, although she didn’t get to raise her, she loved with all of her heart. Also Theresa’s children Trinity, Shayla, and Spencer. Elaine was an incredibly strong and courageous woman who found strength in the love she carried for her children and grandchildren. She devoted her life to the care and happiness of her family. Elaine was a homebody who was most content when she was surrounded by her close family and friends. She enjoyed going to bingo, a good game of cards, a few scratch tickets or nevadas, and a hot cup of tea. Elaine was admired by many for the strength she maintained throughout her 9 year battle with cancer. She fought and held on as long as she could for the sake of her family. She was a true example of how love can carry you through life’s hardest battles. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, as that was her wish. A celebration of life will take place at her home at a later time.
