Rose Roche Crane , 101 was born in Branch, Newfoundland, Canada, the youngest of 8. She was an excellent student, even winning a prize for good penmanship!. After High School , she moved to St. John's, Newfoundland to attend Memorial University. Teaching degree in hand, she taught second grade in St. John's. Looking for adventure, Rose and two friends left Newfoundland in the early 1950's for Brooklyn, New York, where she met the love of her life. Gordon Crane from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. Rose and Gordon married and lived in Brooklyn where they had a daughter. Georgina. Following Gordon's death, Rose and her daughter moved to New Jersey. She taught fifth grade in New Jersey and worked in a bank following her retirement from teaching. Looking to be closer to several family members, she moved to Kennewick, Washington in 2014. "She lived a great life", is the comment heard most often by the people who loved her. Her daughter has affectionately said "She was a great role model". She is survived by Georgina and many loving nieces and nephews across the United States and Canada. Times and dates for a service in Branch Newfoundland will be given at a later date. Donations in her memory maybe made to the Alzheimer's Association.
