Obituary of Annie Barry

Please share a memory of Annie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Annie Barry (1924-2023) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful and loving mother, Annie Barry. Mom passed away peacefully April 3, 2023 at the epic age of 98 years at the Lion’s Manor in Placentia. Mom was originally from Merasheen, PB and moved from there with her husband Jack and five daughters to Pt. Verde in 1967 where they made their home before becoming the first residents in the newly erected Lion’s Cottages in Placentia. Unfortunately, Annie was predeceased by her parents Amelia and Thomas Moore, her loving husband (Jack) in 1993, her two daughters Carmelita (2011) and quite recently Jackie (2023), as well as her sister Mary and Helen and sons-in-law Anthony and Vaughn as wellas other extended family members. Mom has a wide range of friends, many who continued to visit her at the Lion’s Manor. She loved to knit and craft. Her hands were rarely free. Dish cloths were her favorite and she loved gifting them to the staff at the Placentia Lion’s Manor and her many friends. She was a delightful person, loved receiving visitors and talking on the phone to her many friends that checked up on her and she had a brilliant memory–always ready for a conversation and to reminisce. She will be sadly missed by her family–leaving behind three daughters Maureen (Joe), Geraldine, Doloris (Dale) and son-in-law Derm. Her grandchildren Corey (Kim), Michelle (Shawn), Keith (Jill), Kyle (Kim), Seon (Khang). Carmen (Eric) and Ciera (Jon), great grandchildren Jack, Amelia, Christian, Charlotte, Marcus, Hannah, Abby and Kioko as well as extended family. Mom will be missed terribly and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you to all the staff at the Lion’s Manor for their loving care and support over the years to mom and family.
