November 9, 1946 – March 23, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carmel Bullen, formerly of Point Lance at her home in St. John’s after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 76. Predeceased by her parents Joe and Katie Careen, brothers Richard (Betty), Johnny, Jimmy and Sister Catherine. Carmel leaves to mourn her beloved sons Chris and Geoff (JoAnn), husband John, Sisters Gertrude, Margaret, Nellie, Agnes (Harold) and Selina. Brothers Harold (Sara), Peter, Andy (Agnes) & Phil (Yvonne). A large circle of nephews, nieces, extended Careen and Bullen families and friends. During her 30 plus years at the Hoyles Home Carmel showed compassion and grace to all those in her care. Carmel maintained many lifelong friendships with former coworkers and her social groups. Her light hearted sense of humor and laughter was enjoyed by all. Carm was an anchor and a shoulder to lean on for her family and friends. Always fun. Always Understanding. Always Kind. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her. Procession will take place from Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia to Mary Queen of Peace Church, Point Lance at 2:00 pm Saturday March 25, 2023 Visitation 4 – 8 pm Saturday March 25, 2023 Visitation 12 – 7 pm Sunday March 26, 2023 Funeral Mass at 12 pm Monday March 27, 2023 Visitation and Funeral Mass will take place at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Point Lance, St. Mary’s Bay
