Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Ellen?
A: My Aunt Ell was an AMAZING a person! She was always there for me and my family. All we had to do was pick up the phone. She will be truly missed. One of the few family members of my moms side of the family that I remember and new well since I was a little girl. She also supported me and my family so much after my moms passing that we clung to her like a life boat. She was a mentor, a sounding board, a friendly voice, and sometimes tuff love when you needed to hear it. Sometimes I would call her because her voice or sayings would remind mom! I will miss you both! I hope you are having tea with mom talking about us now. Love, Fe

Terry, Kerri, and all the family, my sincere condolences. I only learned of Ellen's passing today and was deeply saddened by the news. I last saw Ellen at The Home Depot and wasn't aware she was sick, she chatted and shared a little chuckle with me. I honestly don't remember seeing Ellen when she didn't have a smile for me. When she worked at Home Hardware and I'd stop by looking for a few things to complete a repair, she'd give me a few tips on how to do it and encouraged me that I'd be able to do the job. She knew her stuff as the saying goes. Rest in Peace Ellen

My dearest Auntie Elle, you have taken a piece of my heart with you when you passed. You were not only the most beautiful loving aunt but you were one of my true, loyal friends.
You were always there with a shoulder to lean on and provide the best advice. I admired your strength, independence, intelligence, stubbornness and charming wit. You loved my children as your own as you did with all your nieces and nephews. Your devotion and love for your family and friends was limitless.
I will miss our chats, phone calls, emails of pictures, jokes and memes, our time spent together cooking and recipe sharing and our sunny summer afternoon day drinks. I will miss your gardening expertise, craft ideas and handyman skills. But most of all I will miss your beautiful face.
Luckily, I have many pictures and memories of you to treasure and hold close to my heart. Your absence will always be felt but the beautiful memories will always keep me connected to you.
“This is not goodbye or the end.
Let me tell you my friend
I’ll keep you forever in my heart until I see you again”

Oh, my dear Ellie Boo...where do I begin? I was born as your niece, but you were so much more than an aunt. Sometimes mother, sometimes sister, but always my biggest fan and my greatest defender. I was always so fiercely proud when someone said I reminded them of you. There was no bigger compliment that could be paid to me. You were always outspoken, but honest to a fault. And the best practical joker and conniver. Ron will never forget his screech in, when you told him to "slip that big old cod your tongue." And he did, because he thought it was a plastic fish. But you had the big, dead, frozen cod ready for him! ..I always loved being your co-conspirator! I pray that tonight you are in the arms of Kenny, Dad,Jink, Mam, Father and the rest of our clan who have gone before. I will love you forever. Until we see each other again. Rest in peace, Ellie Boo

One of my earliest childhood memories is of Ell giving piggy back rides to me and any other kids around. I loved to visit Fox Harbour in the summers and I always sought her out as a child - she was so attentive and fun to be around. She made my brothers and I feel special whenever we came to visit, and she filled our time with joy and laughter. Her loving and giving nature continued throughout the years and she was a remarkably caring person to my parents as well. She was one of a kind and a very special aunt. I feel blessed to have had her in my life.
To Terry and Kerri, my father Albert and mother Clare, my brothers Sean, Raymond and Zane, all my aunts, uncles, cousins, Ell and Terry’s grandchildren, her in-laws, all her friends and anyone else whose life she touched, I share in your heartache.

To know her was to love her
From the first day I met her in Virginia, Ell said it like it was… ( yer @#$& engine’s idlin’ ) No filter, but that was Ell .
She was a jack-of-all trades and master of ALL ! She wore many hats..mechanic , carpenter, electrician, plumber, chimney sweep, story teller and many more. As the Newfie expression goes..” she could put an arse in a cat “…well, that was Ell !
Although we never saw each other often, I always knew Ell would be there in a heartbeat if I needed her …as I did in February 2018 . She had already walked the walk when she lost her dear son, Kenny , a few years earlier and knew knew the pain and grief I was feeling .
No doubt, she is now reunited with her boy and is right where she wants to be .
Thanks for the memories, my dear friend . Will cherish each and every one .
God speed .
