Joe was a man that loved a simple life. Moving back from Ontario in 1990 after working away for many years he came home to enjoy life on ‘The Hill’. He was happiest with a sled full of wood, a few snares, and a drink of rum on the step. When he wasn’t on The Hill, you could find him and brother Pad at their cabin on the Big Loo. Joe was a gentle giant who loved a good time, telling tall tales, and in his latest years enjoyed a quiet life at the Lions Manor Cottages.
Special thanks to our health care angels: the staff at St. Clare’s ICU for your professionalism, constant care and support, and kindness; to the Placentia Hospital Emergency Unit for acting so quickly in getting him where he needed to be for the best fighting chance; and to his neighbours and friends at the cottages for their kindness over the years.
To ‘Brudder Pad’ – who visited Joe almost every day, whether at home on the Hill or in the cottage – thanks for the time spent with him over a coffee and a treat throughout the years.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Public Visitation will take place on Sunday ,October 16 from: 11:00 2:00. Funeral a service will take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel @ 2:30
“This life isn’t fair it seems. It’s filled with tears and broken dreams. There are no tears where I am bound, I’ll be at peace when they lay me down.”
