Obituary of Peter Duke

It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Peter F. Duke of Fox Harbour on June 2, 2022. He is predeceased by his father, Alphonsus Duke, his mother, Ethel Duke (nee Kelly), and sister, Marilyn Duke. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Jon), his brothers Ron Duke (Liz), Derek Duke (Tracey), Gerard Duke (Sheila), Terry Duke, sister Deb Kelly (Allan), beloved nieces Cathy Duke (David O’Keefe), Tammy Duke (Keith Gambin), Lindsey Kelly, Elaine Duke, Alexandra White, Anna Duke (Tom), Ashley Duke, Abigail Duke (Shane), and nephews Alphonsus Duke (Jennifer Hodder) and Nicholas Kelly. He also leaves behind great nieces and nephews, relations, and friends far and wide. He was a humble man who appreciated the simple things in life— there’s nothing he loved more than a cold beer, a classic western movie, a long motorcycle ride, the Sunday crossword, and a good book. He was a skilled tradesman and a talented craftsman. He was genuine in his actions, and sincere in his kindnesses. He lived how he wanted— with dignity for others and authenticity to himself. As a man who valued privacy and stoicism, there will be no funeral or religious celebration. However, there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
