Al was born on December 19, 1956 and passed away on April 6, 2022 Al……Exceptional friend, brother, uncle, nephew, dart lover, card player, dog lover avid reader, and die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Passed away in the presence of his brother Dennis and sister in law Colleen at the HSC, exemplifying the greatest example of strength and courage in the face of life’s greatest adversity. At the young age of 65, many are feeling the loss of Al and the ultimate realization that life is too short. Predeceased by his beloved parents, Madeline and Albert English; Brothers Clem and George Leonard; as well as many other extended relatives of the English and O’Keefe families. We would be remiss to not mention his special canine friend Orion whom he adored until his passing. Cherishing their memories of an unparalleled man, are his brothers Arthur, David (Georgina), Jerry (Maxine), Dennis (Colleen), and sisters Donna (Tom), Mary B (Ralph), Rose (Tim), Marion (The late Eugene ‘Bud’ Sizemore) and sister in law Mary Leonard. Al was blessed with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; all of whom he treasured. The family would like to acknowledge the support and care shown to him by his nephews Georgie, Alex, Scott, Francis and niece Vivian as well as a special ‘inlaw niece’, Joselynn. He thanked them all many times and repeatedly expressed his ultimate gratitude for their presence when he needed support and special care most. For Al, his family were his friends. Al was blessed with an abundance of friends who became his family. They supported him through the many good times that life brought him and the challenging ones of the recent months. You were all very important to him and for the care and unwavering support you each gave him, he was truly grateful and we as a family are humbled. We would like to acknowledge some of his close friends, Wilfred English, Len Mooney, Uncle Jerry O’Keefe, Dennis Nash Sr., Dennis Nash Jr., Francis English, Billy Corcoran and Mike Dobson. Al too had a very special sister in law who was there for his every care need that extended beyond the recent months. For Georgina, a woman of true empathy with an innate ability to care; Al and all the family are blessed to have you. Al would want to extend his deepest gratitude for the many blessings, care and modest love that his brothers David and Art have shown him throughout his life. Through their humble nature, they quietly met his every care need.
