I want to say goodbye to my Uncle Joe.
Uncle Joe was a good family member.
He was always around when needed.
When Mother's screen door was broken,
he figured it out and he knew how to prime
the pump.
After our Father passed he always visited Mother,
bringing berries he picked himself; Rabbit's from his snares,
and fish he caught in his secret places.
When I was a teenager I remember him going to Weddings and Friday night dances and he could really dance. He was always cheerful and had a joke or a story to tell, but he did not drink.
I spent a lot of time with him when I was home and Mother was not well. And we talked a lot about life.
I remember making him a 'beer but' chicken for his 70th birthday.
So long Uncle Joe I hope we meet again R.I.P.
Love Patricia ❤️

With heavy heart I say goodbye to uncle Joe. It was only a short couple of months back that Tom put us on speaker phone. Joe was deaf so I'm I ... LOL We had a shouting match trying to hear each other .. Years ago Arch & Joe would get me to tease Tom. I'd say no he will kill me. They said don't worry we will protect you. ok. Joe after Tom took care of our Dad well it was the last 10 yrs + it was your turn. I'm so thankful he did. As you Rest in Peace now . please watch over him for me.

I’m going to miss seeing Uncle Joe on our yearly visits back home. He always had many stories to tell, long stories, lol, but interesting ones. On the last visit, I mentioned that I really missed the wild salmon that we used to eat as kids. Well…within 24 hours he was back with a real beauty!! Never tasted so good Uncle Joe!! He was such a kind Man, and always would have something to offer us when he visited! Rest In Peace Uncle Joe. The fishes in the rivers are resting much easier, as well.!!

Baron Family! So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was a true gentleman. During my daily walks he would pass along in his truck and would always take a minute to bid me time of day, and if there was no traffic would have our little chat...sometimes a long one. But if we met at the Post Office it could be story time. Joe was one of the best dancers in his day. I can still see him on the floor in Fox Harbour doing the jive. Condolences to all his family. Rest in Peace Joe.

The Barron Family,
Joe came up to our house Christmas for a visit. Boy, we had a great political chat that day. Joe was one of the kindest, funniest & generous persons you would ever meet. We were shocked to learn of his sudden passing. Our deepest condolences go out to the family, especially Tommy, who was his guardian angel. RIP Joe.

Dear Debbie, Tom and Barron Family
It was sad to hear of Joe's passing. The Barron's were great friends of the Mooney Family and when our parents passed on, us girls continued the same friendship. Joe and his family were kind, honest people. He loved to meet at the post office and have a chat with his friends and there were so many. Joe always called me Joanie Mooney. Deepest sympathy to the family.
RIP Joe

I was shocked and saddened by Joe’s sudden passing. Even though he had been ailing for some time his death brought a heavy feeling of loss to our family. Joe had no immediate family. but he was friends with many people who recognized his spirit of kindness and generosity. His large extended family appreciated and loved him. He had a special relationship with his many nephews and nieces and loved to get together with them for a yarn. He had a store of memories as well as his own special recollections that came from his personal world. We will miss him but remember him fondly. Rest In Peace Joe.

Uncle Joe was one of a kind! He was the last remaining member of the Barron siblings - 10 in total who were tough, resilient and overcame the challenges of growing up in poverty and the harsh Newfoundland winters. Uncle Joe had a special place in his heart for our mom Betty & her kids who he visited when we were home and never entered mom's door without a fish, rabbit or any other treat he thought mom would love. Many times I looked out the window and he was hanging out with Nick, Frank & Steve and you could hear the roar of laughter! His sense of humour was legendary and his views were liberal for his time. He was known to smoke a joint or two in his youth which I always thought was pretty great! In many ways he was a rebel! Uncle Joe was loved by many people and will take his place as one of the Barron's who will be remembered for the unique man that he was.
Rest in Peace Uncle Joe

Uncle Joe was a character the likes we don't see much any more. He was quick with a laugh - kind and generous to a fault. What he had - he shared - sometimes it was salmon, trout or just a good story. He was an important part of our family. I'll miss seeing him. Rest in peace Uncle Joe.
