It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Mark Chesney announce his peaceful passing at Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre on January 10, 2022 at the age of 74 years. Mark grew up in Pennsylvania, United States. He joined the Marine Corp at the age of 18 and was later stationed in Argentia, NL where he met his wife, Florence. Mark and Florence decided to build their life in Placentia, NL with their two boys, Marc & David Chesney. Mark had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying numerous hunting and fishing trips with his close friends and family. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Florence Chesney, his two sons, Marc Chesney (Cheryl Ewert) & David Chesney. His 5 granddaughters, Whitney Chesney (Ryan Antle), Ashley Chesney (Travis Williams), Erica Chesney (Jordan Walsh), Jada Chesney & Alix Chesney and one great-granddaughter, Emsley Antle. And his four-legged sidekick, Whisky. As well as a large circle of family and friends. Mark is pre-deceased by his father and mother, Stanley & Gertrude Chesney. As per Mark’s request, cremation has taken place. A visitation of close friends and family will take place on Thursday, January 13 from 2:00-4:00, as well as 6:00-8:00. A small service to commemorate Mark’s life will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., by invitation only. All guests attending public visitations must be fully vaccinated and will be required to show proof upon entry. The family would like to thank the amazing staff of The Miller Centre who took great care of him during his final days. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the SPCA may be made in Mark’s honor, who was a lover of all animals.
