Pad grew up in Petite Forte and worked on the coastal boats in his younger years before resettling in Placentia in 1967. He then spent 27 years working at the U.S. Naval Facility in Argentia. During this time many of his years were spent working on the pleasure vessel Morgan Star, bringing Americans out recreational fishing. He absolutely loved meeting and working with Americans. Pad also loved fishing and hunting turrs with his sons on his time off.
Pad loved and adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and commented many times that he had the best wife and crowd you could ever ask for. In his final months he made sure to tell his family that he had everything he wanted in life. He will be forever loved and missed by us all.
Special thanks to the doctors and the exceptional nurses at the Placentia Health Centre, and public health nurses Nicole Richardson and Kelly Culleton. Special thanks also to Dr. Arthur Rideout who provided many years of exceptional care, Joyce O’Reilly who provided nursing care when needed on weekends, the Lawton’s pharmacy team in Placentia, and Roberta and Jim Moore for their many acts of kindness.
