In Loving Memory of Cecilia Maria Young
July 15, 1941 - June 28, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden
passing of our dear mother, Cecilia, on June 28th, 2021 at her home in St. Bride’s. We
are devastated by our unexpected loss but grateful for our many wonderful memories of
time spent with her. She was devoted to our Dad and cared for him for many years
during his illness. She continued to care for him when we eventually had to place him in
long term care. Her love for him was unwavering.
She leaves to mourn her husband, William, and children Cynthia (Eugene), her
favorite, Calvin (Maureen) and Michelle (Joe). Also left to mourn are her beloved
grandchildren Ryan (Ashley), Samantha (Anthony), Brandon (April) and Lauren, and her
darling great grandson, Owen. She will be sadly missed by her sisters and brothers and
her many friends, especially her bingo buddies who she loved to see on Sunday nights.
Of special mention is her best friend and confidant, Margie, who was always there for
her day and night, whenever she needed her. Theirs was a special bond that only
sisters can share.
We are grateful for Mom’s many friends and neighbors who helped her out over
the years, especially Mike, who was always there whenever she called. We truly
appreciate it. Our lives will never be the same without her but a mom’s hug lasts long
after she lets go (author unknown).
