It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martin Charles Foley (aka Big Daddy) on August 26, 2020,at the Health Science Center surrounded by his loving family and friends at the early age of 66 years. Martin was predeceased by his baby daughter, his loving parents Charles and Chothilda Foley, sisters: Susan and Catherine, brother Aloysius (wife Bridget, deceased), his in laws Dave and Nora, sister in laws: Elizabeth, Dinah and Maryanne and brother in law Gordie. Martin was the most loving, kind and compassionate, hard working person you would ever meet. He always put others before himself, he will be sadly missed by his wife Gloria, his children Charlie (Andrea), Travis, Dawn (Joey) and Ryan. As well as the loves of his life with whom he adored his grandchildren: Michaela, Kierdan, Kaya, Kali and Luke. His siblings: Lucy (Bert), Patricia (Tom, deceased), Bernadette (Cec) Mary (Dean, Deceased)and Dermot (Margie), his in laws: Letsy, David (Dawn), Theresa, Sharon (Donnie), Bonnie, and Gerard (Sandra) and their families also a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Martin was a hard working fisherman, very loving husband, father and poppy. There was nothing that Martin ever shied away from, always dreaming up plans for the business that brought Martin and Gloria to the restaurant business as well as the bed and breakfast in PEI, where he loved going to all the flea markets. Martin had a entrepeneur spirit as well as a passion for the tourism and hospitality where he loved meeting people from all walks of life. Many other family members, and friends, too numerous to mention by name, are left with fond and loving as well. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff ad the Health Science Center, 4SA, 4 NB and the amazing staff in the ICU as well as The Neurology. Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 9:00 . Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday August 29, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church, St. Bride's at 2:00 Will be leaving Placentia to go to St. Bride's at 12:45 Covid-19 has placed restrictions on the number of people that can attend the funeral mass is 50, that includes the priest and the funeral director The number that we have been given for the Church in St. Bride's is 49 "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal" "Home is the sailor, home from the sea, and the hunter from the hill"
