i never met Patty ...i came across him on youtube one time and i was impressed by his wit. the guys he was talking to seemed to treat him with respect and i was glad for that....All to often this is not the case...As a child i was bullied and i remember the sad low feeling i felt from being picked on. In 2012 my wife and i took a trip to newfoundland..we live in Ont....My wife asked me is there anything i wanted to do while we were in Newfoundland....i said yes i want to go to Clarenville and find Patty Lambe if i can....who is Patty Lambe she asked..i replied..A Gentleman i want to say hello to and give him our empties...i never got to met Patty...Rest in Peace Recycle Man.......

To the Sullivan and Lambe families;
My condolences on the passing of Paddy. He was born in Placentia and found his way back for his resting place. Comical little fellow he was. I used to call him 40 shades. He took his recycling very serious and contributed to the environmental cleanup immensely, took over the road with his bike and cart winter and summer. God Bless him. May he Rest In Peace.

He was a legend here in Clarenville. Met him on my walks every morning and I when I'd say hello to him, he was very shy. Gave him a ride to Needs store once, not shy then. Swore on everyone who wouldn't give him a ride until I told him to curb his language, then he apologized. For all his troubles, he was more of a gentleman than a lot of people I've met. Condolences to his family. RIP Paddy. Hope you are in a happy world now. You certainly made a difference in ours.

TRIBUTE to PADDY LAMBE
Paddy and I had a Special connection that goes back over the 25+ Years that I had the pleasure to enjoy many memories with him.
He would always stop on his bike usually, and ask how I was Getting On today. I remember him patting me on the back at the Funeral Home when my Mom passed away.
Paddy had a gentle nature about him, he liked carrying on a conversation, always asking about what I had been up to lately.
He would always joke around and with his infectious laugh he would send me along my way with a “Take care of yourself now....wont ya!!!!”
He loved Recycling to stay active, and when people ask why I love Recycling Bottles and Cans, I glad say” I learned from the Best Recycler (Paddy)”.
Dad always praised Paddy’s Ability to ride his Bike Straight,...even if there was 6 inches of snow on the road!!!”
I was in Arnold’s Cove on my Harley Davidson a few years ago when I stopped, and turned off the engine to have a Conversation with “My Little Buddy Paddy.” He said it was A Nice Bike, and when I asked him if he knew what the name was, he said Harley Davidson! His eyes shone with happiness when he said “Me and you should shine her up sometime.”
For many Xmas Eves we would chat at the Lions Club over a beer. Whenever I mentioned Boxing Day, he would Joke and lagh, calling me “Boxer Dave.”
In Closing, I know GOD has a Gold Wheeled lowrider Bike custom made with a hitch for your trailer. Until we meet down the Road, keep doing a great job up there in Heaven, and tell a few jokes about me.

To the Lambe and Sullivan family. Sincere condolences to all, we have lost an icon. Where ever Paddy lived he kept our streets clean and felt it was something he should be doing. Rest in peace Paddy. I feel I should give condolences to Nelson Pittman who thought the world of Paddy and did so much for him during his last few weeks. I know you will miss him dearly.

Paddy was a character for sure and a defining person from my time in Clarenville. This picture was taken on Nov 11, 2006 and shows me, Paddy, and Trevor sharing a laugh after the Remembrance Day March. I’m sorry to hear that Paddy has passed but happy that he touched my life. I’ll never forget him.

I didn't know Paddy personally, except to see him going around Clarenville picking up re-cyclables on his bicycle. In this regard, he probably did more for the environment than any other who preached the cause. We've lost one of the few who added color to our lives. A character, indeed. R.I.P., Paddy. And condolences to family and friends.

To Mr. Lambe and Family...I knew Paddy for the past 12 years and we always made time to have a yarn. He was very smart with a wit all his own. I always admired how he kept the towns he lived in clean of other people’s litter and was wise enough to turn his kindness into a source of income for himself. I will miss seeing him on his bike and hearing his thoughts on the state of things in society. He was always on the mark with his comments and there was much to learn from him by those kind enough to accept his differences. Rest now Paddy. You’re free from this world.
