Emily and I send condolences to the Walters family. We will always remember our visit with Lorraine in Angel's Cove. It was a short visit but we left with an abundance of bakeapples. This is a testimony to her kind and caring heart. God Bless her. Rest in Peace Lorraine.

As a child I can remember Aunt Lorraine visiting frequently - never for a long time - just long enough to make any appointments , etc.
As I finished University and left St. John’s she was sure to call nearly every week - and it was not just a habit - she was interested in how I was making out - a city boy transplanted around the bay!! I think a part of her enjoyed the fact that I was experiencing life in outport NL - and wanted all the details when she called!
I can’t deny that some of those calls were at busy times and I didn’t always have as much time to chat - but she didn’t worry - she would say farewell and tell me she would call next week. I also remember her telling me that I need not wait for her call - I was welcome to call her anytime :)
Then of course there was Christmas! Who could ever forget receiving a complete nativity set made of crochet and hand dyed - then starched to make them rigid. I can see her creating each piece with care.
As we know Aunt Lorraine’s health deteriorated and eventually those calls stopped and I had to rely on Dad for updates.
I had the opportunity to visit Aunt Lorraine this past Easter season with Dad. It wasn’t much of a chat like old times - but it was certainly nice to sit and reflect on some of the times we shared in my life.
Dad, Uncle Robert and Uncle Steve - I’m sorry I can’t be present at this time due to work commitments - but my mind is certainly there the last number of weeks since our visit , and much more in the past couple of days.
Aunt Lorraine will certainly be missed - not as she was of late - but as how I choose to remember the special effort she made to involve herself in my years as a child and into adulthood.

Stephanie and I wish to express our sorry on your loss. Ecclesiastes states “ There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Regrettably, the time to mourn has arrived. We hope this time of anguish will be assuaged by your faith. Lorraine will live on I am sure in the prays, hearts, and memories of those she touched, and, so she will be ever present to you, and ever present with God. We hope your strength will help you to find solace in the midst of this sadness. Lorraine and her family will be in our prayers.

I want to give my condolences to Lorraine’s family. Although I never knew her very well the few times I did meet her in Angel’s Cove were pleasant meetings. She seemed to be a very educated and thoughtful lady. I am glad to have met her. RIP

I was so sorry to hear the news of Lorraine’s passing. Lorraine was a very special person, so loving and giving of her time. In the 90s we moved to Burin for work and started our family. Lorraine would call me regularly, just to check in and see how we were all doing. I looked forward to her calls. When Jennifer was old enough to play with Barbies,Lorraine would knit her all kinds of Barbie doll clothes and I would regularly get a package in the mail. Jennifer was always so excited to see what was in the box. She always knit little shoes, boots, purses and hats to match the clothes. I was so appreciative of all the time she spent doing this for us. Her kindness always made a little girls day so special. Thinking especially of my cousins Reg, Stephen and Robert and their families during this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love Linda &Perry Bonnell and family

I have known Lorraine my entire life, from the first years she thought I was one of “Johns sons” to the years I would visit her to be shown her beautiful crafts, her Christmas ornaments and the pride she took in her work. She made the best cakes, I still remember her icing from when I was a child... I was so sad to see her health failing years ago, always the caretaker then needing care herself, she was so lucky to have a place at the lIons Manor. Deepest condolences to her caretakers, her friends and her extended family. Rest In Peace Lorraine...
