Obituary of Genevieve Shave

Shave, Genevieve Clarissa, Sept 22, 1953 - April 29, 2019
Passed peacefully away at her home in Dunville Genevieve Clarissa age 65 years.  Leaving to mourn: daughter Cheryl (Sheldon): son Terry (Dawne); cherished grandchildren: Luke, Brooklyn, Madison and Abigail, brother Walter Fleming (Nancy), sister Gladys King, father-in-law Eric Shave, brother-in-law Quinton Shave and sister–in-law Effie Shave; and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by husband Freeman, daughter Shelly, parents Walter and Madonna Fleming, sister Mary Fleming, mother-in-law Anne Shave, sisters-in-law Judy Shave and Grace Shave and Gentry Shave.  Genevieve and Freeman had been married for 44 years and their relationship continued to grow closer together as time passed.  Genevieve found her calling as a nurse as a young woman, and had a meaningful impact on those under her care during her time at the Placentia Cottage Hospital and the Lions Manor Nursing Home.  Her nursing friends quickly became her closest life long friends.  Even after her retirement Genevieve continued to give care to those around her, even when she herself became ill with Cancer.  Genevieve will be remembered for her caregiving, her thoughtful nature, her handmade blankets, her love of gardening, and of course her willfulness.  She will be greatly missed.  Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Thursday and Friday from 2:00 - 9:00.  Funeral Mass to take place at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Dunville on Saturday, May 4th, at 10:30 A.M., with interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast.  Donations may be made to the Daffodil House in her memory
