We are saddened to learn that Michael (Mickey) has passed away. Our sincere condolences go out to all of the Howe family (Louvourn, John, Ed, Ellen Theresa, Catherine, Rose, and Laura).
Mickey was a good, loyal friend, and I (Terry) hung out with him a lot when I was growing up in Fox Harbour. Mickey participated in many activities with the Kings and Buckmasters from the Point in Fox Harbour, including the famous group called “Rick Buck and Them”. Mickey joined us in softball, soccer, hide and seek, racing, skipping, and hiking. Mickey was very speedy, and was a very good soccer player. He was an all around great person, with a wonderful outlook on life, a fantastic personality, and an unbelievable sense of humour!! I remember fondly after the death of Bruce Lee in 1974, when Mickey organized - what was then a big event for the Howes, Kings, and Buckmasters - a trip to Placentia to see a Bruce Lee movie at the Movie Theatre there. This was a great experience for us!!
Mickey was s generous guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He would always offer me a cup of tea and toast, or whatever he had on the stove at the time. Mickey was also very fond of music, and he introduced me to some great bands. As a matter of fact, I still have the original cassette tape which he gave me back then of “ Sweet - Desolation Boulevard”, one of my favourite Rock Bands.
My family (Wife May, and Son Ian) and I were fortunate to have seen him in Placentia in 2016 with his brother Ed. I am glad that we got to meet him before he passed.
Mickey, you will be sorely missed by family and friends. May you Rest In Peace dear friend.
Sincerely,
Terry, May, and Ian King

I am so very saddened of Mickeys passing. I have so many great memories with him. Those that i will cherish forever. He wasn't just my relative but my best buddy. He had given so much of his time and talent to anyone that needed him. From being coco the clown for all the kids enjoyment. A Santa’s helper. To being the best entertainer anyone Could have had the pleasure of seeing in our fundrsiser concerts. He had the best sense of humour, didn't care what he had to do. He would give it his all, as long as he made others happy through laughter made him very happy. My condolences to you all. Xoxo

My condolences to the Howe family. Michael was a very special person. He was the very heart of the community of Fox Harbour for so many years. When ever called upon for whatever reason or event his answer was yes. He brought smiles to young and old alike. He was a wonderful brother, uncle, son and friend. His good deeds were not limited to his social activities, he was always there to help a neighbor in need, give someone a ride or pretty much anything that was asked of him. The last few years were really rough on michael being stuck in a chair and his speech slow and hard to understand but through all this his kind and gentle spirit was still there to be seen and he still had a smile for all his caretakers. Rest in peace Michael and I hope that you are now free to dance and sing again. To all michaels family I extend my deepest heart felt sympathy and I know it will not be easy, as each one of you took so very good care of michael, his every need was taken care of and you all made daily visits. May you find some comfort in knowing that he is not suffering anymore.
