Obituary of Marc W. O'Keefe

Marc W. O'Keefe ~ January 31, 1994 - May 20, 2026 It is with profound shock and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Marc O'Keefe, age 32, of Great Barasway, Placentia Bay, NL. He was fatally injured in a vehicle accident on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, leaving us far too soon. Born on January 31, 1994, Marc grew up with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for his home town and keeping traditions alive. From an early age, Marc was known as an old spirit in a young body. He grew up playing with Tonka Trucks and went on to build a meaningful career as an Operator in Construction. His infectious smile with his piercing blue eyes and a warm, kind hearted personality was felt by all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. Above all of life's accomplishments, Marc's greatest pride and joy was being a devoted parent. Marc leaves behind a beloved son, Kevin, whom he cherished beyond measure. Marc is survived by his mother, Ann O'Keefe, his brother Justin (Madison Platt); his father Leonard O'Keefe (Melvina), Kevin's Mom, Jamie and sister, Joelle; his two dogs, Moose and Dexter. Marc also leaves to mourn a number of uncles and cousins of the O'Keefe and McGrath families. Also leaving to mourn are close family and friends, especially his Uncle Peter, Aunt Anita; cousins, Kyle (Sarah), Violet, Jim and Andrea; Peter Roche, Travis Foley (Michelle), Matthew Foley (Brandy), Sean Collins (Hilda) and Freddy O'Keefe (Jenny). He was predeceased by his grandparents, Frances and William McGrath, Mona and Edmund O'Keefe; his brother, Paul Kevin O'Keefe and Uncle Paul McGrath. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28th, 2026 at Coombs Funeral Home from 1-9 p.m and on Friday, May 29th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Funeral Service/Celebration of Life will take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 29th at 1:00. All who knew and loved Marc are welcome to attend and pay their respects. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery at Great Barasway. In light of his suddent tragedy, the family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to a support fund established for Kevin's future.
