Please share a memory of Jeanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanette Coombs (née Connors), born in 1961 in St. Bride’s, passed peacefully away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the age of 64, at the Placentia Health Centre, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Jeanette grew up in St. Bride’s with a strong sense of community, kindness, and compassion; qualities that shaped every part of her life. She later moved to Freshwater, Placentia where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and family. She is predeceased by her parents, Steve and Rita Connors; her brother Clarence; her parents-in-law, Tom and Theresa Coombs; and her brothers-in-law, Reggie Power, Gerard, Richard and Derek Coombs; her sister-in-law, Patsy Coombs Ennis. She met the love of her life, Francis (“Frank”), and together they built a beautiful life grounded in love, partnership, and dedication. Married for 38 years, they raised two children, Andrew and Jennifer, who were her greatest pride. Jeanette also adored her two little dogs, Radar and Gunner, who brought her endless comfort and joy. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Frank; her children, Andrew and Jennifer; and Logan and Lacey Mulrooney, who held a special place in her life. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Florence (Orn), Leona (Dan), Linda (Clarence), and Jackie (Sheldon); her brother, Derek (Kim); Brothers-in-law; Ken (Jocelyn), and Tommy, and sister-in-law, Ann Marie (Tom); her many nieces and nephews; Scott, Trina, Michael, Janice, Chris, Justine, Ashley, Danielle, Stephen, Ryan, Patrick, Thomas, Shannon, and Laura. Her precious great nieces, Tea and Dae, brought her joy beyond measure. Jeanette also leaves behind her special friends, Kenneth and Jackie Nash, and Bernice Moore, whose friendship she cherished deeply, as well as her Bingo buddies, who filled her days with laughter and companionship. Jeanette was an active and devoted member of the Placentia Volunteer Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary, always giving her time and heart to support her community. By Frank’s side, she played an essential role in helping grow the family business, Coombs Funeral Home, where she formed meaningful relationships with countless families over the years. Her gentle presence, steady support, and genuine care touched the lives of many. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of Jeanette’s friends and relatives who visited, supported, and spent time with her throughout her illness. She always enjoyed the company, and your presence brought her comfort. A special thank you is extended to everyone who provided care during her journey; the caretakers, paramedics, doctors, nurses, and staff, especially during her final stay at the Placentia Health Centre. Your kindness, compassion, and dedication meant so much to Jeanette and to all of us. It certainly did not go unnoticed. The family also wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Slade’s Funeral Home for their gentle, compassionate care and for always being there for Jeanette and our family. Our sincerest apppreciation as well to Father Wayne Dohey for his visit to see Jeanette last week. Your prayers and friendship mean so much to us. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 21st, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Coombs Funeral Home.
