Q: How did you meet Spencer?
A: I met Spence working with the City of St.Johns. He was a fantastic Mechanic, a wealth of knowledge, (I never asked him a question about a Vehicle that he didn't know the answer to) a Master Bodyman and a whole lot more. He was a great Worker and a great Friend. I feel privileged to have known him. Condolences to all the family, I know you will all miss him.

To the Hancock family, we are so sorry to hear of Spencer’s passing. I (Jerry) had admired Spencer since I was very young, before I even knew him. I would love to see all the different cars he and Ivy would be fixing up and driving. Then when I got my licence I got to know him and he treated me like family helping me and all of my family members doing repairs on different vehicles all through the years . He was one of the greatest people that we ever knew, always there to drop what he was doing and help someone out. He will be sadly missed.

God bless to Spencer one of the most caring and friendly gentleman I ever met in my 83 years . It was always a pleasure to pop in and chat for a few minutes when I saw the garage door up. His knowledge and expertise was often shared with who ever needed it often without cost I always thought of him as Spencer especially when he worked at the base right opposite the fire hall. He often came to visit us at the fire hall for coffee or lunch , he was a friend to everyone who met him . He didn’t need wings, God took him straight to heaven

Jim, Rob, Sandra, Shaun, Jeff & Families, We are deeply saddened to learn of Spencer's passing. Spencer would give you the shirt of his back if he had to. He patiently helped us numerous times with his expertise. Every time Spencer passed the house he always would wave, smile & toot the horn on the '50 Ford. This genuine gentleman will be truly missed by us & the entire Town. Rest in heavenly peace Spencer.

Sandra, Jimmy, Robert and all your family.... We were deeply saddened to hear the news about Spencer's passing. It's so unfortunate that we all never spent much time together over the years. Louise and I never really knew Spencer since we were girls but over the years heard many of the cousins say what a wonderful and kind guy he was. What a blessing for your family to have had such loving brother, dad, husband and grandfather and how proud Aunt Patience and Uncle Wilf must have been to be blessed with such a precious son. Hugs and love to you all and rest easy dear cousin. Sincere condolences to each and every one of you.
