Obituary of Evelyn Marie Flynn
Please share a memory of Evelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed away, unexpectedly and suddenly, on February 18th, 2026, Evelyn Marie Flynn.
Leaving to mourn her loving husband, Cyril Bambrick; daughter Trista Camizzi (Nick); son Trevor Pomroy (April) and the light of her life, her grandson Samuel Galway. Also leaving to mourn, her mother and best friend, Marjorie Marie Flynn; her father Fergus and her brothers, Ken (Charmaine), their son Lucas and Larry (Judy) and their daughter April (Derek). She is also mourned by her loving namesake – her Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Austin Percy.
Evelyn was a kind soul – whose super power was lending a listening ear and figuring out what you needed before you did. She was always practical but fun loving. She was known to give thoughtful, useful presents. These will be constant reminders of her love as we make our way without her. Her beautiful singing voice and love of music will be remembered.
She was also exceptionally crafty. Her handmade decorations and flower arrangements bring so much colour and joy to our houses each Christmas season. She loved to bake and even made her children character cakes. This was a talent she brought back to make a few special cakes for her grandson. When she put her mind to it there
was nothing she could not create, even fashioning Halloween costumes out of garbage bags and creating a beautiful First Communion dress. At one point she even painted a beautiful portrait of her daughter having little prior experience in painting. She had spunk and flare, which she displayed in her fashion and jewellery choices. She also loved a pair of statement glasses, particularly a cat eye.
In her younger years she was a stay at home Mom and made sure to raise her children in a house full of love and music. She helped instill in them a passion for learning and reading. She spent hours helping them with their homework, using her endless patience on things like spelling and multiplication tables. She later worked with people with disabilities to help them create as well as run their crafts business. She also cared for them in many ways. Before she retired she worked at the local grocery store brightening the day of everyone with her beautiful smile and the chance to experience something new. Evelyn was an avid supporter of the community through her work with the Placentia Area Theatre and as part of the Community Singers.
Evelyn’s strength, courage and warmth was an inspiration to those who knew her. Her fight and determination to come back after a prolonged illness was exceptional. Every year we have had with her since then has been a blessing, although it will never be enough.
