With love and gratitude for a long life well lived, the family of John Edward Linehan, announces his peaceful passing on January 17, 2026. Born on June 7, 1936, John was predeceased by his wife Emily, parents Jack and Annie, sister Ellen, and brother Patrick. He leaves behind his brother Leo, sister‑in‑law Eva, niece Evangeline, nephew Patrick, and friends who will miss him dearly. John grew up in Branch and loved spending time outdoors. He spent his career working in the boiler room at the Waterford Hospital in St. John’s. Outside of work, John was an avid fly fisherman and hunter, happiest casting a line in the river, or the crisp air of a fall morning. In his later years, he cherished the simple joys of life, especially meeting friends for coffee and sharing stories over a warm cup, or taking walks. John’s family would like to thank Angel of Hope Homecare for their care over the past several months that allowed John to remain in his home. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia.
