Obituary of Peter J. Bennett Jr.

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with a heavy heart that the Bennett family announce the passing of Peter Joseph Bennett Jr., (Scooter). Peter passed peacefully in the loving presence of his brother Wayne, on December 9th, after a short and courageous battle at the Hamilton General Hospital in Ontario. Peter is predeceased by his loving parents, Christine and Peter Bennett; brothers, Daniel and baby boy Peter and Uncle, Peter Flynn. He is lovingly remembered and missed by his siblings, Jerome (Bernice), Anthony (Sheila), Kevin (Noemi), Brendan, Brian (Darlene), Denis (Wilma), Wayne (Brian), Shirley, Imelda (Andy) and Denise (Bill); his children, Brittany (Cody) and Ashley and his grandchildren Lexi and Lily, all of whom he loved with all his heart. Also leaving to mourn is his Uncle, Frank Flynn (Violet) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Heartfelt thanks to his brother Wayne for the countless hours by Scooter's bedside, phone calls, updates and so much more. It brought comfort and peace to our family during such a difficult time. To his cousin, Corey Flynn, for the many visits, phone calls and for saying the Rosary at Peter's bedside. We thank you for the comfort that it brought our family. To Lloyd Mulrooney, a friend of Scooter's, who visited him in the hospital, thank you! It was such a kind gesture and meant alot to our family. Peter, lovingly known as Scooter, to his family and friends was born on December 19th, 1965. He was funny, kind and a very hard worker. He loved music, dancing and a good old kitchen party. He was a loving brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend. But, his greatest title was "Dad" and "Poppy". He will be forever loved and missed by those who knew him. A verse from his favourite song: "Goin' up to the spirit in the sky That's where I'm gonna go when I die. When I die and they lay me to rest Gonna go to the place that's the best!" Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Sunday, January 25th, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in Coombs Memorial Chapel.
