It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Frances Shirley Murray(Reid). A woman of unwavering faith and gentle strength, passed peacefully away at her home, on November 3, 2025.
She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband Ron; daughters, Sherry (Craig), Kelly (Desi), and Tammy (John); and her cherished grandchildren Ava, Meaghan, Jack, Sarah, and Joseph and special friend, Jenny Ryan.
Frances was born in Old Shop, Trinity Bay on May 7, 1949. She was a proud daughter of Hayward and Annie Reid. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Cynthia, brother Alonzo, and sister Maisie. She is survived by her siblings Mary, Rita (Ron), and George (Linda). Also leaving to mourn her brothers and sisters-in-law; Verna Reid, Jane (Bill), Herb, Nora, Stache (Jack), Bill (Lois), Mercedes (Leonard), Anthony (Gail), Terry (Peg), Tom (Elaine), and Don (Thelma), along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
In 1970, she married Ron and together they built a beautiful life in Dunville, raising their three daughters in a home filled with warmth, love, and devotion. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a dedicated member of the Salvation Army.
For thirty years, she lived with Parkinson’s disease, meeting each day with remarkable courage and grace. Her unwavering strength and quiet resilience inspired everyone around her. She faced her challenges without complaint.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Placentia Hospital, especially the compassionate nurses who cared for her with such kindness. Special appreciation is also extended to her devoted homecare assistants, Patricia and more recently Cindy, whose support meant so much. We are deeply grateful to her neurologist of 30 years, Dr. Stefanelli, for his dedicated care, and to the movement disorder nurses Denise Murphy and Jessica Dwyer-Milley for their expertise and compassion.
Her life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and grace. She will forever be missed.
