Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Mary Dorothy (Murphy) King announces her peaceful passing on October 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Born on October 6th, 1937, Mary lived a life rich with kindness, laughter and purpose. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael King, her cherished son, Shawn King and her precious grand daughter Meghynn Norman, along with her parents, Patrick and Jane Ann Murphy; brothers, Patrick, Gordon and Thomas Murphy; sisters, Connie and Sylvia Murphy; parents-in-law, Dennis and Mary King and sisters-in-law, Theresa Healey. Leaving to mourn her loss and celebrate her life are her devoted daughter, Michelle Healey and her husband, Al Healey; grandsons, Steven Healey (Iryna) and Marc Healey (Taylor); great-granddaughters, Eva, Sofia and Mila; daughter-in-law, Louise King and grandsons, Dylan and Toby. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Shirley White and Elizabeth Griffiths; foster brother, Eddie O'Dea and foster sister, Pauline Philphott; a very special friend and cousin, Anne Griffiths and a large circle of Murphy and King family members and dear friends. Born with a passion for learning and a heart for service, Mary dedicated her life to education, shaping countless young minds over her long and distinguished career as a teacher. Her classroom was a haven of encouragement, curiosity, creativity and care where her students were inspired to think deeply and strive for excellence. She taught with love, lived with purpose and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity and wisdom. Mary was deeply devoted to her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life and she poured her love, wisdom and strength into each generation. She was the cornerstone of her family, offering a quiet, support that anchored those around her. Her bond with her sisters and cousins was equally enduring, filled with mutual respect, shared history and heartfelt connection. She was the keeper of family stories, a true historian with a memory for every face and a table for every occasion. Her hands were rarely still ad always willing to learn new skills such as painting, sewing, needle point, flower arranging, just to name a few. ; Mary will be remembered not only for her accomplishments; but, for the integrity and strength she brought to every aspect of her life. Though her chair may now be empty, her presence fills every room she touched - in her family's laughter and the countless hearts she left, forever changed. She will be deeply missed. Also, thank you to the Staff at the Lions Manor Nursing Home for Mom's care. While she only had a short stay, she was well looked out to.
