My condolences to Joe's family. I have only faint memories of Joe while growing up on Merasheen. I guess a few years difference in age and where one was located in the harbour determined close playmates. I had a good chat with Joe at the Community Centre in Merasheen a few years ago. He and I left early and we finished our chat on Martin's Height. It was dark and foggy and he reluctantly accepted my flashlight to guide his way back to the cabin. I walked home thinking how much he resembled his grandfather, Mr. Joey.

I was very saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I remember him well from our high school/teenage years. We reconnected in recent years via Facebook. Joe was a really nice guy. So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with Joe in Argentia, after he came home from his many years working in Labrador. He was a great guy to work with, and I have many fond memories of those days at the Hydro-Met Plant, working together and hearing all his stories.
