Predeceased by his wife, Sarah (Cunningham); Parents, David and Mary (Tremblett) O’Keefe; Parents-in-law, Edward and Bridget (Roche) Cunningham, Stepson, Edward Lake and Son, David O’Keefe; baby daughter, Bridget Mary; grandchildren, Mark O’Keefe and Maureen Lake; his brothers and sisters and special friend, Mary White. Also leaving to mourn are his 36 precious grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren whom he dearly loved and also the White family. Dad had a good many adventures in his 103 years of life. From working on the Coal boat, to road construction, operating his own business, to working on the American Base for 50 plus years as a Stationery Engineer from where he retired. He always enjoyed meeting people from far and near. He enjoyed the Seniors Club, card games, TV Bingo, dancing and always being a jokester and of course his Trouble game which he loved playing and anyone that came to visit had to join in for a game. In his younger years, Dad was very active in the community including the Freshwater Volunteer Fire Department, Seniors Club and many other organizations. He was there to give a helping hand whenever needed. He lived life to the fullest. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 4th from 2:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, September 5th from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at Coombs Memorial Chapel on Saturday, September 6th at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast. Ever loved and remembered by his loving family and friends. So go and run free with the angels, Dance around the golden clouds For the Lord has chosen you to be with him And we should feel nothing but proud. Although he has taken you from us And our pain a lifetime will last, Your memory will never escape us But make us glad for the time we did have. Your face will always be hidden Deep inside our hearts Each precious moment you gave us Shall never, ever depart. So go and run free with the angels As they sing so tenderly, And please be sure to tell them To take good care of you for me.
