Q: What was one of the qualities of Stanley that you loved most?
A: Dad , you were a man of few words and little emotion in the public eye. A very private man , but we as your kids knew you loved us dearly. You never had to say the words for us to be aware. You dearly loved my pets and you were always there for them when I needed you. They will miss you dearly.
I hope you have a drink up there and know that Mom is in good hands. She is strong. Until we meet again Dad !!! We love you!

Sending along our sincere condolences and sympathies to Theresa and all the members of the McGrath family on the passing of Stan. We know that this is a very difficult time for all of you but we are confident that you are blessed with many wonderful and treasured memories of a kind and gentle man. Stan would always take the time to say hello and have a chat just like we did a couple of weeks ago at the cemetery mass in St. Bride’s.
Stan was well known on the Cape Shore for his steadfast work ethic during his years in the construction industry and now that his journey on this earth is over, may his gentle soul rest in peace!!!

To Stan’s family I send my sincerest condolences to all. I have many fond memories of many Fridays evenings in which the whole family would gather in our kitchen in Point Verde. Many stories will remain within those walls … some were sad but many were full of laughter and mischief. A drink or two was always shared among Stan and my father. A Sunday trip to the shore was never complete until we stopped into Patrick’s Cove to see Stan and Theresa… cups of tea were poured and a beer or two were cracked open. Stan’s handsome good looks caught the eye of many but he had only eyes for his beautiful Theresa ! Things were never the same after mom passed… the house became quiet and eventually everyone moved in different directions. I want to believe that they are all reunited and telling tales of days when they roamed the barrons on the Cape Shore and the shenanigans they got up to on the nights they went to the dances! I’ll be thinking of each of you tomorrow as you lay a legend to his final resting place. God bless and fair sails

Theresa , Cheryl , Darren , Jennifer , Jason , Kelly & extended family, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of your husband , father & our dear friend Stan . Stan was a very hard worker, kind gentleman & a respectful family man . His warm demeanour always greeted Eddy with a welcome & smile, saying “come in, come in “. They spent countless hours sitting together at the kitchen table having a yarn and connecting after week’s end on Saturdays . We had so much admiration for his zest for life, great attitude , authenticity and friendship throughout the years . Both Stan & Theresa had hearts of gold and were a respected staple in Patrick’s Cove and many places beyond . Eddy will miss Stan more than you’ll ever know. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace . XO

Jennifer, Cheryl ,Kelly ,Jason ,Darren and Hubert and all extended family and friends so sorry and sad to hear about the sudden passing of Stan.
Stan will be a mayor loss as every time you went through the Cove or drove in the Shore you were guaranteed to run into Stan.
A nice gentle Cove man, that as youngsters would put a smile and or laughter to your face growing up.
He spent lots of time to our house when we were growing up and my parents loved him.
It was always a joy to go to Stan's house all he wanted was to sing a song and of course Teresa by his side.
I visited Stan and Teresa only a few weeks ago and as always like people say' a job to get out ' with the talking and laughter.
You could always clock Stan when he was working traveled daily left home 0430 every morning at construction.
Well Stan boy hard to believe your wonderful smile and great presence is gone from here , we are grateful for all the good memories and will remember you with a smile.
God Bless and hold tight to one another.
Love Agnes and Andy.

Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Stan. I will always remember Stan’s smile whenever you met up with him, whether at a party, a wake or a wedding. And I’d always meet him and Theresa on the Shore road, coming from Placentia and he’d wave and smile. Stan was known for his hard work in the construction industry and provided well for his family. May your memories sustain you while you grieve the passing of your husband, father, and Grandfather. May he rest in peace.

Theresa and family, plz accept my condolences on the passing of Stan. The first memory I have of Stan was from when I was a little girl and dad stopped talking to him in his work truck. There was something so gentle and kind about him and that memory stayed with me all this time. I always looked forward to seeing him on my trips home in the summer because he always was so friendly and his smile just went on forever. May you all find comfort in each other and your memories will last a life time.

When we were kids in the cove bonfire was always a huge event. There was big competition on both sides of the cove for the biggest bonfire. As kids we gathered things to burn and constantly monitored the progress on the “other side”. Despite having a long drive to and from work every day, Stan took the time to gather old construction tires for us to burn. He brought truck loads every year. That was Stan. He got great pleasure in making us all excited and I would think every time any of us recall bonfire, we can thank Stan for the memories.

May all your memories console you at this difficult time. Prayers to all the family. Stan was loved and respected by everyone. A wonderful hard working man. Devoted to his precious Theresa and children, grand children and we can’t forgot all of the family pets. Grateful of our many years of his love and wisdom. He never judged but rather offered guidance. Known for his experience in construction;Jason spoke of his knowledge daily to co-workers. Knowledge he passed on to Jason to support him in his trade. It’s still hard to believe Stan is gone. Our hearts are heavy with sadness but a love that will never die. Another angel looking over us and will always be in our hearts and minds.
