Condolences to all Clarences family and friends on the loss of this fine man .He was a man of considerable strength despite his setbacks and never lost his sense of humor. There was always a welcome at Clarences house and much love and support was evident., as one gentleman said at our house this weekend you never left Clarences and Bettys' house hungry .
My son and nephew Myles drove back and forth to the Cape one summer when they were little fellas on a summer project with Clarence and he always dropped them back home.
We wish all of you comfort and peace in your wonderful memories now and as you navigate through.
God Bless.
Agnes and Andy.

I remember when Clarence would come for a visit at Theresa's place in St. John's. He was always our funny jolly guy with his supply of fish from the shore. We would always be happy to see him. When I would visit Uncle Dave's and he was home I loved to hear his laughter outside and around. Clarence and Betty were loveable people.
Condolences to his family,

I don't really know where to begin. I spent my whole childhood at Clarences house or at my own home.
There are so many memories that come to mind when I think of Clarence. From working on the pasture, hauling hay, hauling garbage, to visiting with Maurice up in the shack on Saturday mornings!
He must have welded up the ole three wheeler 100 times for me. He never once said no.
My last memory before he had the stoke, I was home visiting in the fall and sure enough he had a moose hanging up in the stable. Me, him and William skinned him. I still have the picture in my office at home.
Thinking of everyone back home.
Rest easy sir............

I was deeply saddened to hear of Clarence’s passing. I had the pleasure of caring for Clarence over the last few years. He brought so much laughter to my days at work, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the chance to know him. Clarence’s sense of humour was one of a kind, you never knew what he was going to say. His distinct laugh could be heard across the unit, that had a special way of making the toughest days a little easier. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family at this difficult time.

To all of Clarence’s family and friends,
The man, the myth, the legend comes to mind. Then again so does A Man For All Seasons. It’s not surprising that literary and fictional images are flooding my thoughts as we are say farewell to a real character that was larger than life.
He was the essence of strength and tenacity, which admittedly paled in comparison to his infectious laugh, quick wit, and comical demeanour. So many Clarence-isms will bring us comfort as they echo in our conversations forever. His signature phrases were often lifted from his favourite tunes, but they belonged to him because he lived them better than anyone.
His memory will be marked with tan-vans, hayrides, loads of wood, pastures of sheep, stables of pigs, fresh moose (very fresh), the best grub, organic before organic was a thing with glorious gardens, freezers of game and chickens galore, an open kitchen where food was served day and night, a table that was always set and a kettle that never cooled.
To an uncle, a confidant, a host extraordinaire, and forever groomsman (stood up to us on his 40th birthday), who will be loved for eternity. May he rest in peace.

There is plenty of laughter and singing in Heaven the past two days with Clarence joining all those who have gone before him. They have their arms wrapped around him . His presence will be missed but I know there are so many memories of Clarence that his family and friends will only have to think about him and they will smile. My Mom Theresa, loved Clarence and I know he loved her and would always ask about her. He would have her laughing in minutes. So many precious memories of spending time in Angel's Cove, and Clarence , Betty and their family would be so kind to all of us.
God bless.

Well, Clarence I can remember you from the time I was a very little kid, I loved visiting your home with your kids. That time when those two chihuahuas met me in the driveway barking and you told me to scuff my feet at them. So I did… I scuffed, they made at me like savages and you laughed so hard I think you cried. Yappy dogs will forever remind me of you. Rest easy sir, until we meet again.

Dad so many memories growing up of hunting moose snaring rabbits cutting hay farming chasing pigs (lol)in the woods and having a scatter boil up.You never stopped always at something to provide for us all.For that I will be forever thankful. You thought me that hard work was nothing to be ashamed of and should be proud to be able to work with my hands .Know that will stay with me till we meet again.
You went through a lot in you life but always stayed strong and never one to to give up.There is one memory I recall that I went to Vancouver to go to work you went to work as usual that morning.By the time it was getting close for me to leave you hauled in yard came in said, look after yourself and work hard, You went for the truck not knowing I was watching as the tears rolled down your face.Never forgot that .Dad I hope your at peace .Until we meet again you eldest son Michael .

I have lots of good memories of Clarence growing up in Angels Cove some of which will remain with me forever, like how he taught me how to swim by throwing me in the Falls. It was a great childhood growing up near Clarence and Betty. Cheers my friend. I hope there’s a cold one for you on the other side. RIP

Clarence was a great brother, a steady presence, a kind soul, and a friend to all. He was always there with a helping hand, a story, or a laugh. He lived a full life and meant so much to all of us. It’s hard to imagine life without him, but we’ll hold onto the memories forever. He spent a lot of time with us over the years as he worked in various places including Bay d’Espoir, Chapel Arm, and eventually back to Angel’s Cove on the Cape Shore, where him and Betty raised their beautiful family. He will be deeply missed. May his crowd find comfort in the memories that they shared and may he rest in peace.

Eddie's Last memory with Clarence at St Luke's Home was hilarious.... While Eddie and Clarence were at Eva Coffey's Tavern in Angeles Cove... When two people were arguing over Who caught the biggest moose!! Clarence's father came in ...heard the conversation and Said Con O Rielly caught the biggest moose that was ever caught on the Cape Shore... Eddie said Con couldn't catch a mouse.... Clarence and Eddie roared laughing so much!!! The staff wanted in!!!
