Obituary of Hilda Denty

It is with broken hearts that the family of Hilda Denty announce her passing. Passed peacefully at Winslow Ridge Retirement Centre on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Ambrose; her father Leo, her mother Elizabeth and her sisters, Madonna and Rita. Leaving to mourn are her four children; Colleen (Dan), Elaine (Terry), Paul (Gaileen) and Juanita as well as her three grandsons, Evan, Colin and Ryan. She also leaves with fond memories her sisters; Theresa, Bernadine, Phyllis, Rose and Linda and a large circle of family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to chat and bragged incessantly about her children's accomplishments. She spent many years volunteering with the Star of the Sea Hall, as well as other community organizations. She throughly enjoyed quilting and crocheting and was always ready with a handmade blanket whenever anyone had a baby. A special thank you her doctor, Stephen Major, who has been a rock to our family during this time. He went far and above and we cannot express our appreciation enough. Also a huge thank you to the staff and residents at Winslow Ridge Retirement Centre for being like a family these last three years. Finally, thank you to the Dialysis Unit for being such an integral part of her life over the past 17 years. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 11th from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, July 12th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Saturday, July 12th, at 2:00 p.m. in Coombs Memorial Chapel. Interment to take place at Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, which was a charity close to her heart.
