Howie, aka "the Mayor of Pt Verde" had a lot of friends, too many to mention individually. But, you know who you are and what you meant to him.
Patty and Jim were always there to check on Howie and to fix things, cut the grass and Jim was always there for tech support. His cousin and second mother, Linda Greene (Mother Hen he called her) and husband, Clarence who were there to check on him and would always help with Coby.
A special mention to Paula Foley who was there for Howie, especially in the last few months, whether it was a quick pick up or drop off or a trip to Placentia or taking Coby. Howie knew you were someone he could depend on for anything he needed. You are a truly a compassionate person and Howie was very proud to call you a friend.
Howie was especially happy with his visit to see his sister Susanne and brother Brian and their families in Ontario this past Christmas. They shared lots of great stories and memories that will be cherished forever.
Thank you to Martha McCue who was there for us when Howie was in hospital for transportation, meals and compassion. Thank you to Mame for everything and for being there for us too.
Howie lived a quiet, simple life after retiring and moving home from Alberta. He loved going to a dance, for a drive, walking Coby and chatting with people along the way.
